All weekend the Turkish media discussed the news that the first Turkish-American series on the Netflix platform The Protector went to the trash because the company’s management allegedly did not like the first five episodes, which were filmed by the director Can Evrenol. Apparently, Netflix’s silence, which accompanied all the stages of the creation of the series, pushed them to such a conclusion. Unlike their Turkish colleagues, Americans are used to doing a series first and then starting a PR campaign.
Ironically, the day after the sensational news about The Protector, the Netflix released the first teaser of the series with the promise to show it by the end of the year. As we reported earlier, the shooting has already been completed, now the company is working with special effects and the PR company of the project is being prepared.
Director Can Evrenol published the teaser on his Instagram account, grossly insulting the “colorful” and very false press. And in the expressions, Can was not shy.
The Turkish paparazzi realized that they were wrong and immediately began to praise the teaser, the leading actor Çağatay Ulusoy, and the whole team that did the series. And this is not surprising, because the 30-second teaser was discussed in social networks very actively and it lasted for three hours in twitter trends. Well, the audience is waiting for the release of a big promo of The Protector, which will be posted during this month. The series itself is likely to appear on the platform in November.
