Netflix announces the start of filming of the series Midnight at the Pera Palace / Pera Palas’ta Gece Yarısı, which will be developed by Red Arrow Studios in cooperation with Karga Seven Pictures. Director Emre Şahin is best known for his previous successful work on the TV series Rise of the Empires: The Ottoman. Screenplay by Elif Usman. The series consists of 8 episodes.

The story begins nowdays when journalist Esra is commissioned to report on the legendary Pera Palace Hotel in Istanbul. The girl accidentally discovers a secret room that leads her to 1919. Traveling back in time, she finds herself in the very center of a political conspiracy against the founder of the modern Turkish state, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Hotel manager Ahmet comes to her aid. Together, they must prevent a catastrophe that could ruin Turkey’s future. However, she meets the beautiful and mysterious Halit, the owner of the most prestigious club in Istanbul, and realizes that in this story everything is not at all what it seems and no one is who he claims to be.
