The state censor RTUK has decided to prosecute TV programs that discuss the personal lives of celebrities if they cause reputational damage to famous people by spreading knowingly false information. Since the number of complaints about television gossips has increased significantly, and among the people whom they insulted and denigrated there are quite significant names in Turkey, RTUK finally decided to take up its direct duties. Before telling another gossip, now the tabloids have to get hard evidence that it is true. Otherwise, a fine and the threat of closing the program.
