The Turkish film ‘Love Tactics’ – global success
Demet Ozdemir is rightfully considered the queen of Turkish romantic comedies, which are popular not only in Turkey but also abroad. It is not surprising that it was she who became the star of the first successful Turkish romcom of the international digital platform Netflix.
The film “Love Tactics” starring Demet Özdemir and Şükrü Özyıldız released on February 11, started from the 7th position in the global top films of the platform and surged to the 3rd place among the most watched Netflix films in the world. The movie entered the top 10 in 77 countries around the world.
The official data released by Netflix on Tuesdays confirmed the success of the romantic comedy. In the three days since its release, the film has 8.96 million hours viewed (approximately 6.5 million viewers) and is ranked 4th among non-English films on the platform and 9th among all Netflix films worldwide.
In its second week after the release, the film doubled its audience. It climbed to number one among non-English-language Netflix movies globally and to number 5 among all films on the platform with 16.86 million hours viewed (that is, more than 12 million viewers). In just two weeks, the film had 25.82 million hours viewed (about 19 million viewers).
Thus, “Love Tactics” became the second most popular Turkish film on Netflix, ahead of the movie “My Father’s Violin” and only slightly behind the film “Paper Lives”. However, the movie is still in the top 10 around the world and will certainly add viewers next week.
