Sad news for fans of the series “Barbarossa: The Sword of the Mediterranean / Barbaroslar Akdeniz’in Kılıcı”. As it became known, Ulaş Tuna Astepe also left the cast of the project. What happened?
ES Film’s series “Barbarossa: The Sword of the Mediterranean / Barbaroslar Akdeniz’in Kılıcı” was one of the biggest shows of the Turkish air of the last television season, which was supposed to confirm the superiority of the state-owned TV channel TRT1 over all competitors. The management did not spare money for the historical project.
However, something clearly went wrong. The ratings of the show were not good enough, and with each new episode they fell more and more. The producers tried to replace the film crew, director, writers, part of the cast, nothing helped. Finally, at the end of the season, all the leading actors left the cast except for Ulaş Tuna Astepe.
After a short pause, the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntaş announced that Ulaş Tuna Astepe also had left the cast of the historical show and was already negotiating to star in the new O3 Medya series “New Istanbul / Yeni İstanbul”, where he could play the role of the head physician of the state hospital. Currently, work is underway on the script for the new season of the series, which is being written by Zülküf Yucel. The plot will be transferred during the reign of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. It will tell the story of Barbarossa Hayrettin Pasha at the age of 40. Who will play the main role in the show is not yet known.
