Selahattin Paşalı’s new series
Great news for fans of Selahattin Paşalı. The actor returns to the screens in a new series that will tell about the life of traditional Muslims. What do we know about the project right now?
According to well-known journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Selahattin Paşalı has signed a contract with OGM Pictures to shoot in the TV series Ömer, which will be released on Star TV. The director of the series is Cem Karci, who is known for such popular TV series as “Song of Life”, “Hercai”, “Red Room”. Most recently, he completed filming of the Netflix series “The Tailor” starring Çağatay Ulusoy.
The new series is an adaptation of the famous Israeli TV show Shtisel about the lives of Orthodox Jews, but instead of Jews, there will be practicing Muslims in the Turkish version. Selahattin will play a muezzin named Ömer. The screenwriter is Gülizar Irmak. The actor for the role of the father of the protagonist Reşat has not yet been found. It is also not known who will play the main female character, named Gamze. Gülçin Kültür, known to viewers from the Red Room series, has joined the cast of the show.
Filming was scheduled to start shortly, but has been delayed. Recall that in the summer, Selahattin will also star in the second season of the popular Netflix series “Midnight at the Pera Palace”.
