The series ‘Red Room’: an unexpected development

The lawsuit on the case of copyright infringement of the creators of the series “Red Room / Kırmızı Oda” continues. Recall that the Iranian writer Shahzade N. Igual accused OGM Pictures of plagiarism of her book “Red Sirens of Tehran” in the story of Mitra, which was told in 8 episodes of the show.

The first expertise published the conclusion that there was no plagiarism. However, the court was not satisfied with the first expertise and sent for a second expertise, which showed that the text of the book and the script of the series in part of the history of Mitra intersect in meaning. The expert also claims that since the book is called “Red Sirens of Tehran”, and the series is “Red Room”, this indicates plagiarism. The fact that the story was told in 8 episodes, and the series itself lasted 61 episodes, did not bother the expert.
