During her acceptance speech at the ELLE Style Awards ceremony, Eda Ece literally said the following: “It seems they thought all the help we provided to the earthquake victims was actually done by other people. This is evident from the voting results.”

These low-level statements, filled with hatred and poisonous thinking, ignore the struggle when cities are destroyed, hearts are broken, and eyes are dried up, and help, expecting people to vote the same way without knowing what the people are going through and what they need, means thinking that people can be ‘bought.’ Only the acting of those who, after receiving an award, attack the people without knowing what to do, can be ‘bought.’ Accept the results and keep your poisoned thoughts and language that spread this poison away from our people. Our state continues to heal wounds and carry out the process of revival and development with all its institutions. Do not interfere; nothing more is needed.”

After social media users staged a real obstruction to the actress, she recorded a video message explaining that it was just a joke. She is used to approaching everything with humor, as it helps her cope with problems. That’s just her nature. Her close ones know that her intentions are always good, and she loves her country.
