Helin Kandemir in the new Netflix series

Great news for fans of the young and talented actress Helin Kandemir. The rising star, known for her role as Nihal in the new adaptation of the novel “Forbidden Love,” is set to be the leading lady in a new Netflix series.

According to Birsen Altuntaş, the Turkish actress Helin Kandemir will share the main role with Canan Ergüder in a new Netflix show titled “Istanbul Encyclopedia / İstanbul Ansiklopedisi,” directed by Selman Nacar.

She will play a character named Zehra, a university student, while Canan Ergüder will appear before the audience as a surgeon named Nesrin. Years later, Zehra will come to the home of her relative Nesrin in Istanbul.

The show, created by Tims&B for Netflix, will consist of 8 episodes and is named after an unfinished cultural encyclopedia published by Reşad Ekrem Koçu from 1944 to 1973.
