Will the series ‘Kızıl Goncalar’ be canceled?

After a wave of criticism prompted by the first episode of the “Red Buds / Kızıl Goncalar” series and public pressure, the regional office of the Istanbul Funds, under the Main Directorate of Funds of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, has suspended the shooting permits for several locations. This includes homes specially equipped by the production company Gold Film with a substantial budget.

In addition to these two locations, the companies are also prohibited from filming additional scenes at the Bayram Pasha School, buildings of the Graduates Fund and the Political Fund of Istanbul University, as well as the Women’s Education and Culture Fund. The decision by the authorities is justified by the pressure exerted and the initiation of an investigation into complaints about the series by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK). As a result of these restrictions, the production company has encountered new difficulties and has resumed the search for new shooting locations.
