Serkan Çayoğlu and Seçkin Özdemir in the new historical TV Show “Fatih”
Great news for fans of talented Turkish actors Serkan Çayoğlu and Seçkin Özdemir. They are returning to the screens in a grand historical show, and we already know some details about the new work of the stars.
The state channel TRT1 is ready to delight viewers again with its new historical series “Fatih.” Serkan Çayoğlu will play the role of Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, who captured Constantinople and made it the center of the vast Ottoman Empire. Serkan’s co-star in the series will be Esila Umut. Also in the cast are Fikret Kuşkan, Tuba Unsal, and Selim Bayraktar in the role of Çandarlı Halil Pasha. It’s worth noting that Selim Bayraktar previously portrayed this character in the Netflix series “Rise of Empires: Ottoman”.
The main antagonist of Mehmed the Conqueror, emperor Constantine, has also been determined. This role will be played by the popular Turkish actor Seçkin Özdemir, which came as a pleasant surprise for his fans.
Serkan Çayoğlu shared that he is already preparing for his role, spending eight hours a day practicing horseback riding and martial arts. He emphasized his serious approach to the work and preparation for the role not only physically but also psychologically. The actor is particularly interested in the history of the period in which the series takes place.
The show will be directed by Şafak Bal, and the script is written by Ozan Bodur, Enes Şenengül, Cihan Bozca, and Fatih Güler. After the script reading last Saturday, filming will begin in the first week of January. The first three episodes of the series are already in the final stages of casting.
