The record fine for the series “Kızıl Goncalar”
Last week, the Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) fined the television series “Red Roses” (“Kızıl Gonçalar”) broadcasted on FOX TV, owned by the company “Huzur Radyo TV,” a total of 9 million Turkish liras (approximately $470,000). Additionally, two warnings were issued to the series. Legal proceedings have been initiated by the company “Huzur” and the production company “Gold Film” in response to allegations of violating RTÜK principles, which stipulate that “the series should not contradict national and religious values, common moral principles, and principles of family protection.” Both parties are expected to present their arguments and evidence in the next stage of the legal proceedings.
