Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ returns as the first Turkish gangster
According to Birsen Altuntaş, Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ is once again collaborating with the production company Ay Yapım after the series “Family”. This time, they are preparing a new series dedicated to the life of Necdet Elmas, known as the first Turkish gangster.
Tatlıtuğ will not only star in the series but also serve as co-producer through his company Kampeon. The script for the series, which will be released on a digital platform, will be written by Levent Cantek.
The project will explore the life of Necdet Elmas, who gained public attention in the 1960s for his daring bank heists, intelligence, and charisma. The story is based on the biography “My Father Was a Gangster, But I Was a Child”, written by Elmas’ son, Yıldırım Elmas.
The series promises to immerse viewers in the criminal world of Necdet Elmas, depicting his journey from street robber to prisoner, as well as his complex relationships with his family and connections with influential figures of the time. Ay Yapım and Tatlıtuğ’s company Kampeon will meticulously explore the social and cultural aspects of that era to present one of the most gripping stories in the history of Turkish crime.
