The long-awaited premiere: everything we know about Star TV’s new series “Yoksulluk”
Mina Derman, who played Suna in the series “I Can’t Fit Into This World”, has joined the cast of “Poverty” (Yoksulluk).
Casting for the new series “Poverty”, produced by OGM Pictures, is ongoing. The series, directed by Cem Karcı, will begin filming soon, with the script penned by a team of writers: Selin Arapkirli, Ramazan Demirli, Özgür Ağaoglu, and Elif Hamamcı.
Mina Derman, known for her role as Suna in “I Can’t Fit Into This World”, will play Melis, the niece of Haşmet (played by Turgut Tuncalp), and will be the partner of Cemo (played by Kaan Miraç Sezen). According to insider reports, the series will open with a dramatic scene featuring Hazal Subaşı’s character, Azize, shown at a landfill, marking the start of a gripping family saga.
The cast will also include actors such as Reha Özcan, Onur Berk Arslanoğlu, and Doğa Bayram. Doğa Bayram will portray Zeliha, one of six sisters. Reha Özcan will play Sadık, a close friend of the family patriarch, while Onur Berk Arslanoğlu will take on the role of the antagonist Emrah. Arslanoğlu has already gained recognition this year, winning Best Actor awards at the Afife and Sadri Alışık ceremonies for his performance in the play *The Ugly*.
The script reading is scheduled for Thursday, with filming to begin shortly thereafter. The series will air on Star TV, focusing on a dramatic story of sibling relationships.
