Çağatay Ulusoy Signs the Largest Contract in Turkish Television History!
Çağatay Ulusoy has signed a record-breaking contract with the production company Tims&B. According to Birsen Altuntaş, the actor will earn 3.5 million Turkish lira per episode, an unprecedented amount for Turkish television.
Ulusoy, known for his high demand in the international market, was considering offers from several major production companies. Ay Yapım proposed the project “Love in the Time of Occupation,” OGM Pictures offered “Halef,” and Bozdağ Film suggested a police drama “Once Upon a Time in Istanbul” for TRT.
The new series Ulusoy will star in is titled “Eşref’s Dream” (Eşref Rüya), with a script by Ethem Özışık. The show is being developed for television, and negotiations are underway with several channels, including Kanal D.
The plot follows Eşref, who, at the age of 14, worked as an apprentice mechanic. He falls in love with a girl he calls Rüya (which means “dream”). Years later, after becoming a powerful figure, Eşref finds himself facing her as an enemy.
The mystery remains around the actress for the female lead, Nisan, who will also sing in the series.
It’s worth noting that last season, Ulusoy set a record by earning 2 million lira per episode for the Ay Yapım series “Merciless.” With additional bonuses, his earnings reached 2.5 million lira per episode.
The news of this contract was immediately announced as a “monumental agreement,” emphasizing the significance of this deal for the Turkish television industry.
