The scandal erupted in the context of an antitrust investigation, with sensational accusations leveled against Barım, Sarıkaya, and the agency ID İletişim. According to claims, Barım allegedly received $5 million to conceal the relationship between a famous gay singer and his businessman partner, fabricating a PR romance with Serenay Sarıkaya.

At the premiere of the play *People, Places, and Things*, featuring Merve Dizdar, Ayşe Barım addressed the situation: “We will take this matter to court, but I have nothing further to add at this time. An investigation is ongoing into several companies in this sector, including mine. We will provide our response. There’s nothing I can do — I’ve become a target.”
