Çağatay Ulusoy, who had decided to leave Barbaros series due to delays in filming the historic television show, had already begun work on a new project. According to an official announcement by OGM Pictures, filming of the new movie Deadlock of Struggle / Mücadele Çıkmazı starring Çağatay began on August 4.
Screenplay by Ercan Mehmet Erdem, known for one of the most popular crime series in Turkey, Behzat Ç. The film’s director, Сan Ulkay, is one of the most successful directors in Turkish cinema. His movies Ayla and Muslum were among the top ten most watched films in Turkey of all time, and Ayla also made the short list of The Academy Awards (Oscars).
Filming will take place in different locations in Istanbul (mainly in the historical districts of Balat and Fatih) and will take 5 weeks. On the first day of filming, besides the leading actor, Ersin Arici, Turgay Tanulku, Selen Ozturk and Emir Ali Dogrul were also present on the set.
We remind you that earlier the Turkish press reported that Çağatay Ulusoy is not only the star of the film, but also one of the producers of the movie. Besides Onur Guvenatam’s OGM Pictures, the largest Turkish company Mars Entertainment Group, owned by the Korean group CJ CGV, which is the fifth largest in the world in terms of multiplexes, also takes part in the filming. It owns 500 cinemas in Turkey.
According to preliminary information, the plot of the film is centered on the story of children who live on the streets of Istanbul. Recall that Çağatay Ulusoy has already directed a film about the homeless in the United States. Moreover, Turgay Tanulku who stars in the movie adopted 26 street children, giving them an excellent education (among his children are prosecutors, lawyers, engineers).
