Will the filming of Turkish TV series be stopped?

Will work on Turkish TV series be suspended for three weeks? Will we see new episodes of our favorite projects? A sector in which thousands of people work is under serious threat. What do we know so far?

The situation with the coronavirus in Turkey got out of control and the state had to take very tough measures to fight the infection. From April 29 to May 17, a complete quarantine is introduced in the country. Educational institutions and kindergartens are closing. Special permits are introduced for intercity travel.

Of course, fans of Turkish TV series are wondering if the filming of their favorite projects will continue. It was initially reported that the official circular of the Ministry of the Interior, which stopped the work of all industries not vital to society, made no exception for the film and television sector. So filming of all television series, films and programs will thus cease.

However, a clarification followed. According to Medyatava’s website, filming of the series and film projects will not stop. This information was corroborated by the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntas. She stated that the people who would continue to work on the set were very lucky. Despite all the danger, it is better to work than to stay within four walls. Moreover, last year the sector was very affected by the pandemic.

We are waiting for official information from the competent authorities and hope that the shooting will continue. Note that Turkish show business is one of the few sectors of the economy where testing is conducted every day. People are better protected than in other industries, so it would be unwise to deprive them of the opportunity to feed their families.
