New projects of Çağatay Ulusoy for Netflix and Amazon Prime

Çağatay Ulusoy has not yet completed filming in the second season of the popular series of the digital platform Blu TV Yeşilçam, but has already begun preparations for new projects. As it became known, the actor will star in the Netflix film and in the Amazon Prime series.

According to journalist Sina Koloğlu, while the shooting of the second season of the series Yeşilçam continues, a new project is being prepared for Çağatay Ulusoy, which is being developed by OGM Pictures for Netflix. It will be a trilogy, the directors of two films have already been confirmed. Recall that in a recent interview, screenwriter Levent Cantek stated that he is currently working on three films for Netflix. Two scenarios are ready, the third he will soon complete. Apparently we are talking about this project, (he previously wrote the script for the series Yeşilçam). It will be the Turkish version of one of Netflix’s most popular projects, Black Mirror, tentatively titled “Black Istanbul”. Çağatay will most likely play in the first film of the trilogy.

The journalist notes that the performance of Çağatay Ulusoy in the series Yeşilçam made a very strong impression on the audience. The actor improves himself with each new work and goes to new heights. Mr. Koloğlu believes that this will open the way for him to the international market. Moreover, right now international digital platforms are starting to work in Turkey. As he learned, Amazon Prime has already made several orders to Turkish producers. Çağatay will star in one of the new Amazon series. It is already known when filming began – in 2022.

Note that Çağatay works with OGM Pictures not only as an actor, but also as a producer. The information that Onur Guvenatam and Çağatay Ulusoy, together with Eric Barmak’s Hollywood company Wild Sheep Content, are preparing a new series for Amazon Prime appeared last year. Due to the delay in the preparation of the “Museum of Innocence” script and the problems with its author Orhan Pamuk, who was dissatisfied with the material provided, they considered alternatives. It looks like either the Museum’s script was agreed or they found another book to film. In any case, filming will start in a few months, which means that the script for the first Turkish series of Amazon Prime is already in its final stages.

Thus, Çağatay Ulusoy continues to plan his acting career by choosing non-standard plots. He is clearly not satisfied with the classic stories of love and revenge that prevail in Turkish TV series. He is Netflix’s first Turkish actor and remains the star of the platform, making his third joint project with it. He will also become the first Turkish actor to star in the series of Amazon Prime.
