İbrahim Eren steps down as CEO of TRT1
İbrahim Eren, who has transformed state-run TRT1 TV channel from a lagging appendage of Turkey’s private channels into the most powerful tool of state propaganda going from success to success in the series market, is leaving the channel’s CEO chair. His term of office expired, and it was decided to split the position. Mehmet Zahid Sobaçi was appointed the CEO of the channel and Ahmet Albayrak was appointed as the chairman of the TRT1 board of directors. Mr. Eren warmly said goodbye to the employees in a special video message, and also expressed gratitude to the country’s leadership for the opportunity. His new place of work is not yet known, but a specialist of such a high level will certainly be in demand both on TV channels and on platforms. Perhaps he will create his own production company.
