Turkish viewers no longer want to watch TV?
According to the famous journalist Sina Kologlu, he talked with a person who works in the sector, analyzing the behavior and habits of Turkish viewers. He explained that the AB audience, which advertisers love so much, is rapidly distancing itself from the series on open channels. Last year, 9 out of 10 new TV series would have found viewers in this group, this year only the series The Trial / Yargi has managed to do this. Producers are starting to focus on the total audience, which prefers love and intrigue.
Where did AB go? It is quite clear – to digital platforms. This transition accelerated dramatically during the pandemic. However, this also means that the series on open channels will not offer anything new to the audience. All “revolutions” in genres will take place on digital platforms. The gap between audiences on open channels and platforms will widen. In addition, Turkish producers successfully sell overseas TV series that are intended for total, including daytime series.
Is AB over? No, it still exists, but it has nothing to do with the old AB. Perhaps this change is inevitable (apparently it means that remaining AB orients towards conservative values). Members of his family have long complained that there is nothing to watch on TV except one or two series.
