The well-known historian İlber Ortaylı, after watching the series on television and on Netflix, came to the conclusion that Turkish serial production looks great in terms of technical performance, but is poor in terms of plot. Moreover, in Turkey there is simply no cultural background for creating numerous high-quality scripts. As a result, we see almost the same TV shows.
