Why has Disney Plus delayed “Women Stained with Black”?

The digital platform Disney Plus, which is preparing to launch in Turkey in the summer, will offer its viewers a large selection of Turkish TV series. However, among them there will be no project of the Medyapim company “Women stained with black”. Why?

Disney Plus will launch in Turkey on June 14th. Several very ambitious projects are already known to be available on this digital platform. Among them are the series about Atatürk, the sequels of the famous franchises “Money Trap” and “Recep İvedik”, the series “Escape / Kaçış” starring Engin Akyürek, “Between the World and Me / Dünyayla Benim Aramda” starring Demet Ozdemir, “Without Men / Nomen” starring Halit Ergenç, The Turk / El Turco starring Can Yaman and many others.

The platform also planned to release Medyapim series “Women stained with black / Siyaha Bulaşan Kadınlar” based on the book of the same name by Büşra Cebe. However, according to the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntas, Disney Plus management decided to postpone the filming of the show until 2023. The decision is due to the fact that in the first year, Disney prefers to publish lighter, more entertaining content.

The series should consist of seven episodes and in each episode there will be a new story with different characters. Ebru Şahin, Elçin Sangu, Biran Damla Yılmaz and Tuba Büyüküstün received an offer to star in the series. Beren Saat refused to work in the show, she has another project that will be released on Netflix.
