48th Golden Butterfly Awards

On December 4, the 48th Golden Butterfly Awards ceremony took place in Istanbul. This time, the event turned out to be rather mediocre, because many Turkish stars not only ignored the ceremony, but also publicly announced their unwillingness to participate in it.

The ceremony looked boring, there were few stars in the hall, and those who came preferred to chat with each other in the foyer. Cameras installed in the hall recorded a significant number of empty seats with signs for invited guests on them. Some stars decided not to attend the ceremony at all. The singer Aleyna Tilki said that she was invited, but she ignored the invitation, as this award is no longer as important as before.

Deniz Baysal answered the fan’s question whether she would go to the Golden Butterfly ceremony very honestly, saying that those who received the award come there. Çağlar Ertuğrul followed up on her response on Twitter by posting a photo of Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech by stating that Beyoncé actually deserved the award.

However, the main winner of the ceremony – the series “The Trial / Yargı” did not cause any special objections among fans of the Turkish show business. Everyone agreed that the award is well deserved. Pınar Deniz received the award as the best actress. Kaan Urgancıoğlu became the best actor. The best director is Ali Bilgin. The best screenwriter is Sema Ergenekon.

In her acceptance speech, Pınar said that as a child she watched a film about what the thirst for money did to people and cried until the morning. Then she told her friend that she definitely needs to save the world, she needs to help people and touch their lives. It was this desire that made her an actress. However, users of social networks did not appreciate the excessive pathos, caustically ridiculing Pınar: “Save the world – become an actress!”

Feyyaz Yiğit was named Best Comedy Actor for his work on the digital platform Exxen series Gibi. The series became the Turkey’s best comedy of the past year.

Ezgi Mola won the best comedy actress for her work in the Netflix series “Erşan Kuneri”. The speech of the actress turned out to be very militant and was dedicated to protecting the rights of women.

Edis became the best singer of the year. The best female singer is Zeynep Bastık. It is noteworthy that they came to the ceremony together. Recall that the couple still assures everyone that they are “just friends,” although evil tongues say that Zeynep divorced her husband precisely because of Edis. However, the husband was also with Zeynep at the ceremony, because he is not only her ex-husband, but also her manager.

Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, who was named the best TV presenter, decided not to appear at the ceremony at all.

Su Burcu Yazgı Coşkun and Onur Seyit Yaran, who star in the series “For my family”, which has been in the top five most popular TV series in Turkey for the third year in a row, became the best serial couple of the year.

Love Logic Revenge was awarded as best romantic comedy of the year. The award was received by the producer of the project, Yağmur Ünal.

İlayda Alişan became the best romantic comedy actress. Burak Yörük became the best romantic comedy actor. The young stars won the award for the series ‘You’ll fall in Love’, which was cancelled due to low ratings (the last episode scored less than 1%). However, given that the show was broadcast on TV channel D, which is the organizer of the ceremony, one should not be surprised at the awards.

The Disney Plus project “Between the World and Me” got an award as the best series on digital platforms. It was presented on the stage by the magnificent Demet Ozdemir. By the way, she also represents the Pantène brand, which is the official sponsor of the award.

Clearly offended by the fact that the most popular digital Turkish Netflix series of this year, “Another Self / Zeytin Ağacı”, did not receive the Golden Butterfly award, Murat Boz posted a message on Instagram, writing that for them the best award is the attention of viewers from all over the world, who watched the series and thanked fans for their support.

Nilsu Berfin Aktaş, Ozgu Kaya, Su Burcu Yazgı Coşkun and Tarık Emir Tekin received the Rising Star award. Traditionally, this award is presented every year by the Pantène brand, but this time it was presented not only to young actresses, but also to an actor.

Şevval Sam, who received the award as the best performer of folk music, admitted in her acceptance speech that this award is special for her. She has already won it three times, but today she receives it on the same day as her son, whom she gave birth to and raised (Tarık Emir Tekin). This is a great honor and pride for her.
