On Wednesday, February 15, Turkish TV channels held a charity marathon, and all the funds raised were donated to the aid fund for those affected by the terrible earthquake in Kahrmanmaraş. Turkish celebrities participated in the event.
During the “Turkey has One Heart” charity marathon, 115 billion Turkish liras were collected. Stars working on national TV channels were invited to support the action. Of course, Turkish viewers did not miss the opportunity to discuss the appearance and behavior of their favorite actors. Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ excited the audience when he quickly entered the studio in the middle of the broadcast. His appearance and nervousness were compared to the character he played in the series “Kuzey Güney.”
But, of course, the main topic was helping those affected by the earthquake. Actors did not hesitate to express their feelings. Aras Bulut İynemli stated that it is time to unite. He is happy that he can contribute at least a little to the common cause. Burak Özçivit thanked everyone and expressed hope that the donations would be generous. He also expressed faith in the Turkish people. Barış Arduç emphasized the importance of Turkish unity in such moments and called on everyone to work together to solve the problem. Serenay Sarıkaya expressed regret about what had happened, but also confidence that together they can heal wounds and raise the necessary funds. Burak Deniz said that the country has a long way to go, but he hopes that thanks to the donations they will be able to overcome difficulties.
Oğuzhan Koç and Demet Özdemir confirmed their readiness to help both today and in the future, and expressed condolences to the entire nation. Ebru Şahin joined her colleagues, expressed hope for the speedy recovery and healing of all citizens affected by the earthquake. She noted that, despite the difficulties, the scale of the assistance they provide gives them hope.
It was not without annoying mishaps. Social media users were outraged when the host Nihat Hatipoglu rudely interrupted the speech of Murat Yildirim, who said, “One of the things we know how to do is forget…” Mr. Hatipoglu had to explain that he simply didn’t hear Murat’s voice due to the noise, and he was very sorry, it was an accident.
