Bestemsu Özdemir criticizes colleagues
Bestemsu Ozdemir criticized celebrities who travel to earthquake-affected regions and share their photos on social media, writing: “Posting on social media doesn’t make you a hero. You should share people’s suffering, this is not a circus. It’s not about heroism! We need to motivate people, hug and cry with them. And you’re doing TV shows in villages!”
The actress admitted that her mental state has deteriorated and that the whole country needs support to cope with this tragedy. She talked about how her friend in Marmara always carries a whistle in case of new earthquakes. She also expressed concern for her family living in a house in Fethiye.
Bestemsu also announced that she plans to go back to the region again on Saturday and stay there for 3–4 days, depending on the situation. “We’ve built a stove, and we’re trying to prepare tents, which are much needed,” the actress said.
