The Turkish Ministry of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) has launched a campaign called “Let my home be your home / Evim Yuvan Olsun” to support earthquake victims who have lost their homes. The team behind the TV series “The Ottoman / Kuruluş Osman” has supported the campaign and called on all citizens to do the same.

The goal of this campaign, launched to meet the housing needs of those affected by earthquakes, is to provide citizens’ vacant homes for earthquake victims. The Ministry of Industry and Technology has reported receiving over 4,000 applications.

According to the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Varank, they started receiving calls from citizens willing to help from the first days, who said, “We have a house that we do not use, we have a summer house, we have a country house. I live abroad, and I have a house in Turkey where I come for 15 days a year. Can these houses be opened for use by affected residents?”

The minister stated that a decision was made to create a platform and launch a campaign to fulfill these requests. Citizens who have homes that can be provided for use by affected families can offer their homes through the platform. AFAD representatives first check these homes, and then open them for use by affected residents.
