New film directed by Müge Uğurlar

The independent film “DERN,” which will be directed by Müge Uğurlar, will be made by her own company, SBS Medya. Sami Saitan will be the cinematographer, and Makbule Kosif wrote the script. Filming for the movie will take place in Trabzon, and it will screen at international film festivals. The movie will be based on Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi’s novel, which narrates the tale of Marife, a woman who has spent 40 years living alone and socially isolated on the edge of the Black Sea. Her first great love, which resulted in disappointment and this life of loneliness, will be revealed to viewers.
