The Night of Henna is a beautiful Turkish tradition
Before a wedding in Turkey, the traditional ceremony “Night of Henna” is held, which represents the bride’s farewell to her childhood home. This ancient custom has survived to this day and gathers all the women of the house. On this night, girls and guests are allowed to have fun, but the bride must cry, listening to the saddest melody that symbolizes her longing for her parents and saying goodbye to her father’s home. Turks believe that the more the bride cries, the happier her married life will be.
