Renowned actress Esra Dermancıoğlu sharply criticized Turkish TV series for their disregard for older people. She also dislikes modern scripts, or rather their absence.

Esra Dermancıoğlu, who is preparing to return to the screens with the series “Boundless Love / Hudutsuz Sevda,” published a 7-minute video after watching a movie on the MUBI platform, in which she complained that in Turkey, cinema and television only focus on youth stories aged 20 to 27, while people over 40 are ignored.

“In this country, there are people over 40, you know?” the actress remarked with disappointment. “In the film and television industry, only one age range is shown. It’s madness. Perhaps the writers want to write for people over 40, but the producers refuse. We no longer watch TV series and movies; now we watch fashion shows. We watch how they dress the girls. No plot, no dialogue.”

Esra also criticized the concept of the movie “Love Tactics” with Demet Özdemir and Şükrü Özyıldız, which was released on Netflix, stating that all these tactics are outdated. Maybe they did this 200 years ago in America, who uses such tactics now?
