The series “Golden Boy” is losing popularity due to the script of the 2nd season
The series “Golden Boy,” which airs on Star TV, is gradually losing popularity among viewers. Compared to the ratings of the first season, in the second season, the series has lost over 50% of the audience in the total category and over 70% in the AB category.
The main reason for this decline in ratings is the audience’s reaction to the script of the second season. On social media, many viewers express dissatisfaction with the work of the new scriptwriting team. Additionally, significant changes in characters have undermined trust in the storyline.
While “Golden Boy” is losing popularity, its main competitor, the series “Cranberry Sherbet,” on the contrary, is demonstrating an increase in ratings.
Among the problems that “Golden Boy” faces are:
- Constant relationship drama between characters;
- Dialogues that fail to resonate with viewers;
- Loss of plot coherence compared to the first season.
Understanding that some viewers are tired of the story, the project team is looking for ways to bring them back. One of the steps in this direction is the return of Pelin, a character played by Buçe Buse Kahraman. Pelin was one of the most controversial characters in the first season, and her story attracted a lot of attention from viewers. The return of Pelin and her mother Zerrin, played by Toprak Sağlam, may help regain viewers’ interest in the series.
Mert Ramazan Demir, who plays the role of Ferit, stated that the return of Pelin was a pleasant surprise. He also declined to comment on rumors that the decline in the series’ ratings is related to his breakup with Afra Saraçoğlu, who portrays the character of Seiran.
