Turkish series are conquering the world
At the 74th International Berlin Film Festival, Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Batuhan Mumcu, highlighted the global popularity of Turkish series, emphasizing that they attract attention from audiences worldwide.
He noted that films supported by the ministry actively showcase Turkish cinema at major international film festivals and are successful in over 170 countries, garnering a total of around 750 million viewers.
According to Mumcu, Turkey holds a prominent position globally in the export of cinematographic content, with Turkish series playing a key role in promoting Turkish culture abroad.
Foreign producers are showing interest in filming in Turkey due to its advantages, including climatic conditions, diverse locations, competitive prices, advanced technical infrastructure, and skilled personnel. Mumcu also mentioned Hollywood’s interest in Turkish shooting locations, expressing hope for further development of film production in the country.
