The ratings for Wednesday brought Turkish viewers a new series titled “Rock, Paper, Scissors (Taş Kağıt Makas),” which started rather modestly in both categories. However, the first episode is not determinative for the show. It’s quite possible that viewers will “warm up” to the series, and the future dynamics will reveal more.
The series “The Ottoman (Kuruluş Osman)” grew by 0.26% in total but lost 1.32% in AB. The drop in AB is quite unpleasant, but it’s essential to remember that the educated and affluent audience changes its preferences very quickly; it can return as suddenly as it left. The viewer total is much more predictable, and the positions of the historical series produced by Mehmet Bozdağ have been strong among regular viewers for five consecutive years. Therefore, the conclusion of Osman Ghazi’s story will be as successful as its beginning.
The series “My Wonderful Life (Şahane Hayatım)” lost 0.76% in total but grew by 0.11% in AB. Due to the upcoming holidays, the female audience is likely to decrease, which is quite predictable and unlikely to affect the fate of the show by producer Kerem Çatay.
The series “Scent of the Trunk (Sandık Kokusu)” lost 0.59% in total and 0.03% in AB. The show by O3 Medya hasn’t become a major hit but is holding its ground on air confidently and steadily. A slight decrease in audience due to the approaching holidays is not crucial for the fate of the series.
The series “One Love (Bir Sevdadır)” lost 0.49% in total and 0.75% in AB. Unfortunately, the change of scriptwriters didn’t help; the show of the state channel still doesn’t enjoy much interest among Turkish viewers and is likely to conclude at the end of this season, although there’s a chance of renewal for the summer period.
