Uğur Polat and Seda Akman Join the Cast of “Genius”

Birsen Altuntaş reports that after lengthy negotiations, Uğur Polat has agreed to play the role of İskender, the father of Aras Bulut İynemli’s character, in the Show TV and Ay Yapım series “Genius,” the filming of which began last Sunday. Polat, who gained acclaim for his outstanding performance in the three-season series “Yargı,” initially wanted to take a break but accepted the offer after persistent persuasion from the producers.

İskender’s character is a clever and cunning man from the criminal world who will confront the family he left behind many years ago. For a long time, it remained unknown who would play his second wife, Aysel, the mother of Cesur (Taner Ölmez) – a woman just as shrewd as İskender himself. After extended negotiations, this role went to Seda Akman.
