Star TV continues its preparations for the new television season. In addition to extending the series “Yalı Çapkını” for a third season, work is underway on a new series with the working title “Poverty.”

“Poverty” promises to be one of the most notable new projects of the season due to its emotional storyline. The director of the series will be Cem Karcı, well-known to fans of Turkish dramas for his work on projects such as “Song of Life” (“Hayat Şarkısı”), “The Wind” (“Hercai”), “The Tailor” (“Terzi”), and “First and Last” (“İlk ve Son”). The script is being penned by Selin Arapkirli, Ramazan Demirli, and Özgür Ağaoğlu.

Casting has already begun. The plot of the series will narrate the struggle for survival in Istanbul of six orphaned siblings: Azize, Cemo, Zeliha, Fidan, Ramo, and Balım. According to available information, Hazal Subaşı and Asude Kalebek are being considered for the role of the eldest sister, Azize. Negotiations are ongoing with young actors for the roles of the other siblings.
