“Flowers Bloom”: A New Series About the Struggle for Independence
Gold Film is preparing a new series that promises to be one of the most talked-about projects of the upcoming season, alongside the third season of “Cranberry Sorbet” and the second season of “Red Roses”.
The screenwriter of “Red Roses”, one of Turkey’s most successful dramatists, Şükrü Nejat Şahin, is working on a new ambitious project for Gold Film.
The series, tentatively titled The Hatmakers, is set during Turkey’s heroic War of Independence in İzmir and tells the story of a village woman named Ayşe. With the onset of the hat reform, she transforms her life and becomes a style icon.
The series is scheduled to premiere on the NOW TV channel, with filming set to begin in November. Although negotiations with the lead actress are still ongoing, the series has already been given a new title — Flowers Bloom (Çiçekler Açar), inspired by a line from the march “Flowers Bloom on the Mountains of İzmir.” The project will be directed by Hülya Gezer.
