Scandal: Why Did Disney Plus Reject the Series with Kerem Bürsin?

According to Birsen Altuntaş, the series “Platonic Love” has encountered issues with the platform where the project, involving Gupse Özay, was initially set to premiere.

The series, starring Kerem Bürsin, Gupse Özay, and Öykü Karayel, is currently in the testing phase. Filming for the 8-episode comedy is scheduled to begin soon. Gupse and Öykü will portray sisters, while Kerem Bürsin will play a character named Kaan, who dramatically enters their lives. Other actors in the show include Ali İpin, Uğur Demirpehlivan, and Emrah Ben, with Onur Bilgetay directing.

Originally, the series was slated to premiere on Disney Plus, which had recently resumed purchasing local content. However, the platform demanded changes to certain scenes. When the production team refused, Disney Plus withdrew its offer. Currently, negotiations are underway to potentially release the series on Netflix. The cast also features Ali İpin, Uğur Demirpehlivan, and Emrah Ben.
