Since 2016, Netflix has introduced numerous Turkish stories to both local and global audiences. Yesterday, an event was held at The Seed, attended by press members, influencers, and opinion leaders, where Netflix announced that it would bring many more captivating stories from Turkey to the world in the coming years. These stories will range from dramas to romantic comedies, action to animation. After the presentation of the 2025 projects, a panel discussion was held, moderated by Nilay Örnek, on the theme “From Imagination to Reality: Netflix’s Experience.” Participants included Başar Başaran (“Nameless Lovers” – creator and screenwriter), Birce Akalay (“Graveyard”), Ece Yörenç (“Who Came, Who Went” – creator and screenwriter), Engin Akyürek (“Old Money”), Halit Ergenç (“Nameless Lovers,” “Lefter”), and Selman Nacar (“Encyclopedia of Istanbul” – director and screenwriter).

The company Bir Film has introduced the series “The Small Town,” directed by Seren Yüce and written by Deniz Karaoğlu and Doğu Yaşar Akal. The plot revolves around two brothers and their childhood friends, who reunite years later and find themselves entangled in a dangerous intrigue involving stolen wealth. The cast includes Okan Yalabık, Özgürcan Çevik, Ozan Dolunay, Büşra Develi, and others.
The series “Encyclopedia of Istanbul,” created by director and screenwriter Selman Nacar with the support of Tims&B Productions, focuses on the lives of two women – Nesli and Zehra – representing different generations and social backgrounds. Each heroine has her own dreams, hidden secrets, and personal truths. The project stars Helin Kandemir, Canan Ergüder, Kaan Miraç Sezen, and others. Initial footage was presented during the “What’s Next” event.
The series “Letters to the Future,” set to premiere on Netflix Turkey, is directed by Cenk Ertürk and written by Rana Denizer. The first scenes from the production have already been unveiled to the public.
The series “One More Chance,” directed by Hakan Algül and written by Deniz Akçay, is set to debut on Netflix. The cast includes Ata Demirer, Uğur Yücel, Esra Bilgiç, and others. The story focuses on İsa, a once-successful sports commentator and leader in global betting rankings, who has lost his professional skills and job. His life changes when the spirit of businessman Refik enters his world, helping him solve accumulated problems. At the same time, İsa must uncover the circumstances of Refik’s murder and solve the mystery of his death.
The series “Nameless Lovers,” directed by Umur Turagay and written by Başar Başaran, is preparing for release on Netflix Turkey next year. The cast includes Halit Ergenç, Funda Eryiğit, Rıza Kocaoğlu, Zerrin Nişancı, and others. The first scenes were presented at the “What’s Next” event.
On Wednesday evening, new cast members joined the series “The Scent of the Chest,” broadcast on Show TV. In the second season, Nesrin Cavadzade (playing Ayça) will have a new partner, Hakan, portrayed by Pamir Pekin.
