Ratings of Turkish TV
Wednesday’s ratings introduced Turkish audiences to a new series, “My Mother Ankara (Annem Ankara),” which made a confident debut in both categories. While the numbers are not groundbreaking, they are promising. As always, future dynamics will tell the full story.
The series “The Ottoman (Kuruluş Osman)” saw an increase of 0.18% in total and 0.36% in the AB category. Produced by Mehmet Bozdağ, the show continues to maintain strong ratings in its sixth season, even though it has significantly declined compared to its early episodes. However, this is a completely normal trend and should not hinder the series from reaching its conclusion successfully in May-June of next year.
The series “Leyla” experienced a 0.31% decline in total but gained 0.64% in the AB category. The arrival of a new competitor did not significantly affect the position of this Ay Yapım production, which remains one of Wednesday’s leaders, holding its audience steadily. While not a super hit, it has proven to be highly successful.
The series “Orphans (Sahipsizler)” rose by 0.67% in total but lost 0.02% in the AB category. The average viewer has responded well to this new show by producer Onur Güvenatam, though it has failed to capture the AB audience’s interest. It remains to be seen whether Star TV will consider the growth in total ratings sufficient or if the lack of interest from the AB demographic will seal the series’ fate.
The series “Scent of the Trunk (Sandık Kokusu)” dropped by 0.58% in total and 0.88% in the AB category. The introduction of yet another competitor has negatively affected the “weakest link of Wednesday,” especially given the similar themes across the shows. Whether the series can stay on air will soon be determined by Show TV’s management.
