Ratings for Monday, December 9, 2024
The series “Distant City (Uzak Şehir)” rose by 0.37% in Total and by 0.60% in AB. Once again, producer Kerem Çatay has managed to capture the hearts of grateful Turkish viewers, creating an undeniable hit that continues to rise with each new episode. How long the screenwriters’ talent will sustain this success remains uncertain. However, considering that the show is based on an immensely popular Arab hit and was in development for several years, it’s safe to predict that this series will deliver many more pleasant surprises for its audience.
The series “Red Roses (Kızıl Goncalar)” lost 0.15% in Total but gained 0.72% in AB. This quintessentially Turkish production, with its deeply complex philosophy, continues to hold its ground on air, maintaining a steady viewership. This once again proves that Turkish television production has far from exhausted its creative potential.
The series “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi (Salahaddin Ayyubi)” saw a slight increase of 0.03% in Total but a decrease of 0.02% in AB. While the show does not boast high ratings, it performs confidently on the state-run channel and is expected to complete its season without significant issues—one of the benefits of state funding.
The series “The Cost of Lies (Kalpazan)” concluded with a modest finale, losing 0.12% in Total and 0.03% in AB. Perhaps a few years ago, a series with such figures might have been allowed to continue, but circumstances have changed, and networks now tend to swiftly cancel underperforming series without granting a second chance.
