Tuesday’s ratings brought Turkish viewers a new series, “Don’t Cry, Istanbul (Sen Ağlama İstanbul),” which debuted with modest numbers in both categories. However, it’s worth noting that the ratings of a first episode rarely define a show’s trajectory—a series that starts slow can rise to become a hit, and vice versa. The coming weeks will reveal the trend.
The series “The Nightfall (Bir Gece Masalı)” saw a drop of 0.70% in Total and 0.41% in AB. This traditional Turkish drama continues to resonate well with the general audience but fails to captivate the more affluent and educated demographic. Still, with such strong Total ratings, the creators are unlikely to be overly concerned.
The series “Bahar” lost 0.22% in Total but gained 0.41% in AB. The AB audience seems to view the second season far more favorably than the Total audience, which is good news for the producers. However, as the season is just beginning, maintaining these levels until late May will be a considerable challenge.
The series “Mehmed the Conqueror (Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı)” experienced a loss of 0.32% in Total and a sharp 1.04% drop in AB. The decline in AB is particularly painful, but given that the series airs on a state-owned channel, this won’t affect its long-term outlook.
The series “Love, Marriage, Divorce (Aşk Evlilik Boşanma)” concluded its run with a modest finale, losing 0.31% in Total and 0.99% in AB. Unfortunately, no miracle occurred, and the audience showed little interest in this project by Karga Seven Pictures, a company that excels in digital productions but continues to struggle to connect with Turkish viewers.
