Ratings of Turkish TV
Friday’s ratings introduced Turkish audiences to a new series, “Once Upon a Time in Istanbul” (Bir Zamanlar İstanbul), which debuted with a very modest start. However, as has been noted many times before, everything will be decided by the subsequent trajectory: there have been numerous cases where a series that started quietly eventually climbed to the top of the ratings. More concrete predictions can be made based on its performance over the next month.
The series “Cranberry Sherbet” (Kızılcık Şerbeti) lost 0.35% in total but gained 0.20% in AB. The fluctuation in ratings is minor and well within the normal range. Producer Faruk Turgut’s show remains one of the most in-demand series on Turkish television and is now 100% certain to be renewed for a fourth season.
The series “Golden Boy” (Yalı Çapkını) lost 0.28% in total but gained 0.64% in AB. A slight increase in AB does not save producer Onur Güvenatam’s show, which is steadily losing its audience. It is not difficult to predict that the series will likely conclude with its 100th episode, meaning there are six episodes left until the finale.
The series “Zembilli” grew by 0.05% in total and 0.66% in AB. So far, the ATV network’s show has not been particularly encouraging for its creators, though it is not performing poorly enough to be pulled off the air immediately. It is quite possible that it will make it to the end of the season.
