Ratings of Turkish TV
The series “Cranberry Sherbet” (Kızılcık Şerbeti) lost 0.37% in Total and 0.33% in AB. Producer Faruk Turgut’s show remains one of the most popular series in Turkey and is confidently heading into its fourth season. The writers have managed to keep viewers engaged over a long stretch — something that doesn’t happen often in Turkish drama.
The series “Zembilli” (Zembilli) increased by 0.04% in Total and 0.85% in AB. Unfortunately, the ATV channel’s production failed to capture the interest of Turkish audiences, and its finale next week seems like a natural conclusion. Still, the 13-episode run will allow the creators to market the show easily to international buyers.
The series “Golden Boy” (Yalı Çapkını) lost 0.11% in Total but grew by 0.37% in AB. Producer Onur Güvenatam’s project is approaching its finale with rather disappointing numbers. However, it’s far from the first hit that was stretched to the limit. In Turkish television, successful series often end only when ratings decline. Fans, therefore, have little to be upset about—they were given a complete story filled with twists and a strong romantic lead pair.
The series “Once Upon a Time in Istanbul” (Bir Zamanlar İstanbul) lost 0.22% in Total and 0.63% in AB. Sadly, producer Mehmet Bozdağ’s project failed to resonate with Turkish viewers. Since it airs on a state channel, it will likely run until the end of the season, but a second season appears unlikely.
