Ratings of Turkish TV

Wednesday’s ratings brought Turkish viewers a new show, “The Ottoman: Orhan” (Kuruluş Orhan), a continuation of the popular historical saga about the founders of the Ottoman Empire. The premiere delivered a decent start, though considering the success of its predecessors, the creators might have hoped for stronger numbers. In Turkish television, however, every season means winning back the audience anew — and Mehmet Bozdağ’s new project certainly has every chance to do so.

The show “Eşref’s Dream” (Eşref Rüya) rose by 0.58% in Total and by 1.54% in AB. Turkish viewers continue to enjoy the blend of mafia intrigue and passionate romance, and it seems that producer Timur Savcı’s project has no intention of losing ground despite the arrival of a new competitor.

The show “Orphans” (Sahipsizler) grew by 0.12% in Total but lost 0.33% in AB. Overall, producer Onur Güvenatam’s project remains steady — the Total audience follows the story with interest, while the wealthier, educated AB demographic shows less enthusiasm. Still, advertisers in this case are betting on Total, so the AB decline is not particularly concerning for the show.
