Çağatay Ulusoy’s film participates in the Oxford Film Festival
The short film Birdie directed by Çağatay Ulusoy has been selected for the Oxford Film Festival, which will take place from 24 to 28 March. The director and scriptwriter is Çağatay Ulusoy. Starring Turgay Tanuklu. Editing and the second director is Atalay Ulusoy.
This is the story of a lonely fisherman Halit, who lives a quiet life alone with nature near the lake and his only goal is to be full. Experiencing severe pain in his leg, the old man seeks the advice of a doctor who advises him to immediate surgery. Helpless and sick, he returns home, realizing that he does not have enough money for the operation. But the next day he finds a wounded goldfinch, which becomes a part of his life, just as Halit becomes a part of a bird’s life. Will their relationship change the fate of both?
Note that earlier the film had the title Free Goldfinch and many believed that Çağatay for some reason refused to work on the project. However, as it turned out, he still made it, as promised, and the movie turned out to be interesting enough for the international jury to include it in the official selection. The film will be available for viewing from April 1.
