Will Ekin Koç star in the series 3 Kuruş / Üç Kuruş?
3 Kuruş / Üç Kuruş is one of the most anticipated series of Turkish television. All summer long, fans wondered who would get the roles of a serial killer and a police commissioner, and now, finally, we got another big name in the project.
Summer is coming to an end and in two weeks we have a new TV season with very high stakes. At the end of last season, the attention of Turkish viewers was focused on the new, promising project of Ay Yapim company 3 Kuruş / Üç Kuruş, which was advertised in the last episode of the legendary TV series The Pit / Çukur.
As the producers promised, the project should become a worthy successor to the famous TV shows Içerde and Çukur. One of the series’ three main characters was soon named. Uraz Kaygaroğlu will play the casino owner Kartal, who will become the link between the serial killer Irfan and the police commissioner Efe.
However, fans had to wait all summer to get new information about the project. As it became known, the producer Kerem Çatay had serious problems with casting. He offered one of the main roles to Çağatay Ulusoy, but the actor rejected the offer. Taner Olmez also refused to work on the project. And now, finally, we heard a new name. According to the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntaş, the role of police commissioner has been offered to Ekin Koç, and he looks at this proposal quite warmly. However, Ekin has not yet given a definitive answer.
Fans dream of Engin Oztürk playing the serial killer, but so far these are only their fantasies. The project is directed by Sinan Öztürk, known for his work on the TV series Çukur. The screenwriters are Murat Uyurkulak and Damla Serim. Filming for the series 3 Kuruş will start in early September. Then we will be announced the official cast of the project.
