Turkish audiences love fantasy and historical TV Shows

According to a study conducted by OGM Pictures in 2021, 65% of viewers are attracted to the fantasy and science fiction genres. 63% of viewers also love historical series. Moreover, the overwhelming majority in these categories are men. It is curious that while historical series are widely represented on Turkish television, sci-fi stories are left at the mercy of digital platforms and foreign producers. This is a huge piece of the “digital pie” that Turkish producers have never been able to get their hands on. But apparently they really want to. It’s not hard to imagine that attempts to create something worthwhile in these genres will continue.
