Turkish show business is shocked by the unexpected decision of producer Mehmet Bozdağ and ATV channel to break the contract with actress Başak Gümülcinelioğlu, who was supposed to play the lead role in the new TV series Firebirds. What happened?

Producer Mehmet Bozdağ, known for the historical series “Resurrection Ertugrul”, “The Ottoman” and “Legend”, begins filming the series “Firebirds / Ateş Kuşları”. Directed by Emir Khalilzade. This is the story of homeless children, the motto of which is the saying “much you feed the wolf, he still looks at the woods.”

According to the well-known journalist Birsen Altuntas, Görkem Sevindik, familiar to viewers from the series “The Oath” and “Ramo” will be the leading actor of the TV show. Initially, the main female role in the series was to be played by Başak Gümülcinelioğlu, known to viewers from the TV series “The Trial”.

However, then it became known that the actress left the cast of the show even before the filming began. The reason was the decision of Başak to star in the digital series “The Impossible is Possible”. Producer Mehmet Bozdağ stated that he could not work with the actress because of her contract.

As it became known, the ATV channel forbids its actors to play in the series of digital platforms. A little earlier, Ahu Yağtu was forced to leave the cast of the film on the digital platform, as the channel opposed it (recall that the actress is filming in the series “For my family”). From now on, not only digital platforms are signing binding contracts, as happened with Disney Plus, but Turkish TV channels have decided to follow the same rule.
