Unexpected news for fans of the series ‘Love is in the air’. Russian filmmakers are preparing to make their own adaptation of the popular Turkish show. What do we know about the project right now?

Turkish romantic comedies, which traditionally fill the break in the main season, have suddenly become very popular outside the country. Not surprisingly, producers are investing more and more money in these projects, attracting big stars to work on the series. This happened with the TV series ‘Love is in the air’ starring Hande Erçel and Kerem Bursin, which, after a successful broadcast in Turkey, began a triumphant tour beyond its borders.

It is curious that the series turned out to be in demand even in those countries that previously did not pay much attention to Turkish serial production. So, according to the results of voting on the Kino Mail.ru portal, ‘Love is in the air’ became the most popular series among Russian viewers in 2022.

According to the TASS news agency, the general producer of Mediaslovo company Danila Sharapov has announced the purchase of the rights to adapt the popular Turkish TV series. The remake will be filmed in partnership with Gazprom-Media Holding and Okko online cinema. It is assumed that the show will first be broadcast on the TNT channel, and then the adaptation will be presented in the Okko and Premier digital platforms.

The general dramaturgy will remain the same, however, in addition to changing the location (Moscow) and Russian actors in the lead roles, the plot will also change, although the creators of the Russian version promised to leave the overall charm of the show untouched. How well they succeed, we will find out in a year, when the series will be released.
