Yesterday, the legal team of Show TV filed an appeal in court regarding the decision of the RTÜK censor to suspend the broadcast of the series and impose a fine of 1.5 million Turkish liras. The decision was made after RTÜK noticed a two-minute scene in the series where the heroine Nursem was thrown out of a window on her wedding night. RTÜK considers this scene to be a bad example of violence against women.

Yesterday’s hearing did not result in a final decision, and it is expected by Friday. Gold Film continues to film the series, and if the appeal decision is positive, the series will be broadcasted. However, if Show TV’s appeal is rejected, episodes on April 7, 14, 21, 28 and May 5 will not be aired.

In addition, Show TV announced that in this time slot, documentary films sent to the channel by RTÜK will be broadcasted. In their statement published yesterday, the Actors’ Union expressed concern that the series team will be deprived for 5 weeks until the end of the season amid an economic crisis, and also condemned the censorship decision.
